The other day a friend called me to ask for help. For several days he and his family have been living in a country villa.

After some work he did in the yard, he felt severe back pain that practically immobilized him. I could tell from his voice that he was very depressed.

How could I help him? Of course, I recommended that he see a specialist as soon as possible, because it is very difficult to identify the source of back pain without a special medical examination. I am sure this wasn't the advice he expected from me, but I had to tell him that. He replied that he was going to see a doctor, but it would still take some time, and he could no longer tolerate the pain. So, he asked me to help him get rid of the pain until he was able to get to a specialist.

Then I took out of my magic collection of natural remedies some that would help him with back pain. In this email I would like to share them with you, in case you find yourself in similar situations.

Most often, different compresses are used to relieve back pain. For compresses, herbal tinctures are suitable: black elderberry, chamomile, St. John's wort, thyme.

Also, from the category of compresses there is the following remedy: apply a thin layer of honey to the lower back, put a few paper napkins on top, then 3 mustard plasters; cover the compress with foil and wrap with woolen cloth.

Any compresses should not cause burning, only tolerable heat and slight tingling.

You can also try various methods to warm the place that causes pain. Baths with mustard or mint, sandbags heated in a pan – these popular experiences can also be applied.

Hay bath is indicated for pain in joints, neck, lower back, spine. For infusion, take 1 kilogram of hay for 1 bucket of water.

Boil for 30 minutes, then leave for 30-40 minutes, strain the liquid and pour into a hot bath. Take the bath until you are steamed, then you should dry yourself thoroughly with a dry towel, wrap yourself up, and go to bed.

Salt dressings are effective for any inflammatory process. For dressings, prepare a solution of salt in hot water (100 g per 1 liter), soak a gauze folded in several layers or a clean cloth made of natural fibers in it. Squeeze the gauze and apply to the painful area. Place a clean, dry towel on top. Do not use as compresses! The bandage can be left overnight.

For back pain, mustard is also used in several natural remedies. It is used in the form of powder or mustard plasters. Mustard contains many essential oils and is irritating to the skin. As a result, in this area, the delivery of blood to the tissues improves, the metabolism increases, and toxic substances leave. As a result, inflammation and pain are reduced.

For the bravest, there is a completely desperate method: take a bunch of fresh nettles and beat them on the lower back. It will “burn” your back, but with it the pain will go away. Be very careful with the remedy you choose.

Consider your health and the restrictions you must follow.

If you are wondering how my friend is doing, I can tell you that he is much better. But he still is going to see the doctor.

Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
