Your liver is very busy:

  • Breaking down damaged or old blood cells
  • Controlling the amount of sugar in the bloodstream
  • Filtering the blood before passing it onto the rest of the body
  • Pushing toxins out of your body
  • Storing fat-soluble vitamins and minerals then releasing them when needed
  • Regulating proteins
  • Storing fat

And since your liver is assigned with such important tasks, it would be wise to treat it with a healing detox once in a while. You can compare your liver with a car's oil filter. The only difference is that you can replace the car filter when it stops working. Luckily, there are a few beverages that you can drink today to improve the health of your liver:

Green Tea

This tea is highly praised in Asia for its antioxidant and rejuvenating properties. However, you should also know that green tea is extremely potent in preventing:

  • liver disease
  • breast cancer
  • heart disease
  • colds and flu

Plus, it has brain improving effects and boosts cognition, memory, and mood.

Drink it instead of coffee for a few weeks and relish in its benefits.

Milk Thistle

Although milk thistle is not the most delicious tea, its healing properties are worth it. This tea has been used for thousands of years to treat many illnesses. Milk thistle strengthens your liver, reduces inflammation, promotes cell growth, decreases cholesterol, and even regulates insulin resistance. And (like all of the above aren't enough), milk thistle also boosts your brain's health and protects it against neurodegenerative diseases. Start consuming it at least once a day for a few weeks to notice any difference.

Dandelion Root

Despite what many people believe, dandelions are more than just a simple weed. This yellowish plant has incredible health properties and is excellent for the health of your liver and kidneys.

Drink dandelion tea daily, and among its liver healing properties, you'll also improve digestion and strengthen your immune system.

Enjoy them as fresh as possible, but make sure they haven't been sprayed with chemicals.

Use these teas for a few weeks and let me know what benefits you've noticed. I can't wait to read all about them!
