A Natural Homemade Shampoo for Healthier Hair

It seems that every day, a new shampoo commercial pops up on your screen.

Different celebrities preach the “amazing” abilities of countless shampoos…

But how much truth is to all of the claims?

My youngest daughter fell for the media’s lies and started using advertised shampoos and conditioners.

After a few months she noticed problems that she didn’t have before starting using these shampoos.

I automatically advised her to switch to our natural homemade shampoo formula… after seeing the results, my daughter no longer wanted to throw money out the window on commercially available shampoos.

You may not be aware of this, but these hair products contain a myriad of synthetic compounds that only patch up your hair problems instead of solving them.

Commercial shampoos and conditioners artificially coat your hair with plastic or protein polymers to make it look and feel undamaged.

How does it do that?

Nowadays people damage their hair in more ways than one: overheating it with curling or flattening irons, bleaching, dying, etc.

When your hair is put under so much external pressure, it’s bound to break.

That’s why it begins to absorb harmful substances like a sponge.

I’m talking about:

  • synthetic “protein” polymers like:
    • soy
    • wheat or oat proteins
  • plastic polymers such as PVP (petrochemical polyvinyl pyrrolidone)
  • gum coating agents

If you want to actually improve the health of your scalp and make your hair look shiny and glamorous without drenching it in chemicals, then your best bet is on a homemade natural shampoo formula.

If you have severely damaged hair, then it will take some time until your hair will heal from all the damage induced by chemicals.

Give your scalp and hair some time to absorb all the natural ingredients and feed off of it.

Soon enough the results will come and you will have everyone turning their heads, admiring your luscious locks.

Natural
Homemade Shampoo Formula

You’ll need:

  • ¼ cup coconut milk (homemade or canned)
  • ¼ cup liquid castile soap like Dr. Bronners
  • 20 drops of Essential Oils:
    • For dandruff prone hair: 5 drops each of lemon, lavender, tea tree, and rosemary essential oils.
    • For fragile hair: 10 drops of clary sage, 5 drops lavender, and 5 drops wild orange essential oils.
    • For hair loss: 5 drops each rosemary, peppermint, cedar wood, and lavender essential oils.
    • For dry hair: 5 drops each peppermint, spearmint, myrrh, and chamomile.

Instructions:

Now, combine all of the ingredients in a bottle (an old shampoo one is fine) or you can also use a pump soap dispenser or even a foaming dispenser.

If you use the latter, add ¼ cup of distilled water to dilute it and you can also use it as a great shaving cream.

All that is left for you to do is to shake it well.

Bonus tip: To get your hair cleaner and to increase shine, you can also rinse your hair with a 50:50 mixture of apple cider vinegar and water.

How to use:

  • Shake well before each use.
  • Use about a teaspoon every time you shampoo.

Remember to only use this formula for up to a month, afterwards I recommend you to do another one.

I strongly advise you to try it and let me know what changes you’ve noticed after using it.

I am very eager to hear from you.

Till then, your health is in your hands.
