How to Push Past Self-Limiting Beliefs and Enjoy Life

The secret to override your flaws and enjoy life is something that most people already have access to… and they are blossoming in all aspects of their life.

Do you know what may be stopping you from fulfilling your desires?

This article will reveal to you the answer.

But first, let me ask you the following question:

What do you see when you look at yourself in the mirror?

Do you see a strong, capable, and intelligent person?

If you do – you are right!

If you don’t… let me change your mind.

You might feel inadequate for many reasons, but the truth is – we all do.

No one is perfect. No matter how much you try, perfection is unattainable.

But that’s exactly what makes you special – your flaws make you unique.

Which means, you are a force of nature.

Nature is not perfect, but it’s strong. Look at this picture ->

A seed once sprouted can break the pavement.

If nature is so strong and powerful, then you are too.

It’s all a matter of perspective, which you can change by following these mental exercises:

  1. Push through your self-limiting beliefs.

Expose yourself to different situations.

Try new things and push past your boundaries.

My friend Tim, was coerced by his wife into learning how to dance.

He felt very uncomfortable at the beginning. But now…

He competes at senior balls and has never felt better about himself:

“I love the way ladies swoon over me, that makes my wife go mad. But she likes the attention too. Now we spend our retirement dancing our hearts away,” confessed Tim.

If there’s one thing that I’ve learnt from his experience is that – confidence is built, not given.

Once you prove yourself you can do something challenging, you know that you can do anything you set your mind to.

  1. Memory does not equal facts.

Your brain has a selective memory system which helps it from not getting overwhelmed by too much information.

But what it does, is to store information that is consistent with your own beliefs, values, and self-image.

So basically, you extract the gist of your experience and store it in ways that makes the most sense to you.

Ever wondered why different people
witnessing the same event have different versions of it?

Therefore, if you have low self-esteem, your brain tends to store information that confirms your lack of confidence.

That will be all you remember about a specific event.

Make sure you have the accurate perspective.

  1. Talk to yourself.

Did you know that talking to yourself can improve your:

  • Intelligence
  • Memory
  • Focus
  • Athletic performance?

Giving yourself a pep-talk before something challenging can help you override fears and anxiety.

When you are positive, you are more likely to see a solution because the way you talk to yourself influences your neurobiological response.

Simple tips to instantly become positive:

  • Come up with five positive thoughts to counter every one negative thought.
  • Let every positive thought sit for 20 seconds before moving to the next positive thought.
  • Acknowledge both good and bad emotions.
  • Do not try to suppress negative ones.
  • Label the emotions for what they truly are and move on. Do not enter into inner dialogue about the negative emotion because then it becomes more powerful.
  1. Be curious.

You might want to delete the saying “Curiosity killed the cat” from your mind because, in truth, curiosity will make you:

Hungry for information – Knowledge is power.

It is the foundation of life-long growth.

This way you can learn new things every day and expand your mind and perspective.

I hope these tricks will help you in attaining peace of mind.

Not only that, but I want you to realize you are not alone.

I am right beside you, every step of the way.
