Recently, when I was visiting an old friend of mine I was shocked to see she was in a very bad state. She told me that for two weeks she has been battling a fierce Urinary Tract Infection. Unfortunately, she lost the battle and now she was being administered two shots of antibiotics per day. I couldn’t help but to feel for her, so I asked her what her initial symptoms were and how she treated the first outbursts of the condition. Her response made me write this article and share some valuable information and tips to you.
UTIs are the most common infections that both women and men can suffer from. The first symptoms are the need to use the restroom more frequently than usual (without urinating too much), a burning sensation while urinating and sometimes even nausea and loss of appetite. My advice to you is to be careful about the messages your body is sending you. By listening carefully to them, you can naturally prevent the full blown casualties of an UTI.
If you are not alert and don’t take immediate action when the first signs appear, an irritation discomfort can lead to fever, kidney problems, etc. Keeping a close eye on the symptoms can relieve you from a lot of stress and severe setbacks. I also advise you to go to the doctor immediately if you have fever associated with the initial signs of an UTI. Prolonging the state will only cause you more harm than relief.
What can you do to prevent an UTI?
- Keep yourself hydrated – this will help flush out the toxins from your urinary tract and will ease the pain when urinating. When this type of infection strikes it is better to drink more water than usual. You can also drink unsweetened cranberry tea with lemon, this will make your urine more acid and kill the bacteria.
Extra tip: Avoid intake of caffeine or alcohol during the treatment as this irritates the bladder.
- Don’t postpone going to the bathroom – always respect your body’s needs. The longer you abstain yourself from urinating, the more your condition can aggravate.
- Practice proper self-cleaning tips – always wipe from front to back, quickly shower after intercourse to get out any microbes that may have come into contact with your urethra and don’t use intimate cleansers or shower oils (for these are irritating to your sensitive private parts).
Taking into account all of the tips above and practicing them religiously every single day will keep you away from the devastating effects of UTIs. As always, prevention is the key element in maintaining your overall health. Furthermore, this will ensure you never have to worry about UTIs ever again.
Your health is in your hands, take good care of it.
