5 Egg-cellent Tips for a Stress-Free Easter

For many, Easter, like many other holidays, is an opportunity to reconnect with loved ones, be they friends or family members.

And, of course, everything has to be perfect because the expectations are high. Delicious food, a perfectly set table, smiling faces and good mood…

While some experience the joy of the holidays, others experience a very different state. They feel overwhelmed by the stress of preparation and may experience real episodes of depression during and after the holiday. Each person's emotions are different and can include moments of happiness and euphoria as well as sadness, anxiety, and a heightened sense of loneliness. In general, all of these experiences are referred to as holiday depression syndrome.

In this article, I would like to point out 5 Tips that will help you take care of yourself during the Easter holiday:

The 1st tip is to take care of your nutrition.

Easter is a holiday associated with a lot of food and sweets. But it is known that a person's psychological state is directly related to what he eats, i.e. the brain and the digestive tract, which is often called the "second brain," are closely linked.

Even during the Easter holiday, try to stick to a balanced diet and get the nutrients your body needs, while avoiding excesses.

The 2nd tip is to think about yourself.

Stop for a moment and think about what you really want. Do you want to spend Easter with friends or family? Or do you want to be alone with yourself? Maybe you want to go for a walk with your dog instead of cooking 10 meals? That's fine. Whatever your choice is, it's okay, and those who really care about you will understand and respect it.

If you are faced with tasks that make you feel uncomfortable or seem unrealistic, just say "No." Don't look for excuses.

The 3rd tip is to do an Easter social media detox.

Social networks are often triggers for depressive states and anxiety, especially during the holidays.

Photos from Easter holiday journeys, family parties and festive atmosphere… all this can lead to the feeling of comparison or FOMO.

One way to reduce these feelings is to take a break from social media and live at least one day in real life, in the present moment.

Don't compare your reality to someone else's virtual life. Just enjoy the real thing.

The 4th tip is about creativity.

If you have ever wanted to sing, dance, paint, or do other such activities, now, at Easter, you have not only the opportunity, but also a very important reason to do all these things. When your desires are realized, they are very beneficial to your emotional well-being. Creativity is especially important because it's fun and enjoyable, and what you do improves your overall health, boosts your confidence, and stimulates your brain function.

Paint eggs, make Easter decorations, or just try experimenting in the kitchen by cooking something new…

In the meantime, be aware that things you want to do but can't complete can be frustrating.

The 5th tip is to spend this Easter outdoors.

It's spring. Enjoy the revival of nature on an outside walk. Nature is a wonderful place to bring some serenity and peace into your life.

Have a Happy Easter, whatever it may be for you. Remain calm, reassured, and stress-free!
