Effective natural remedies for food poisoning

I've waited so long for summer to go on vacation with my family. Summer has come, and with it the long-awaited vacation. It would seem that everything was perfect… But the expectations do not always coincide with reality. The most inappropriate situations usually happen when life seems to be the most beautiful, and nothing seems to predict the occurrence of a problem. What exactly do I want to tell you? In fact, I want to share with you an unpleasant situation that happened to me when I was traveling with my family and which was about to ruin our vacation. This is a situation that can happen to anyone, no matter how prudent you are – food poisoning. When the first symptoms appeared, I understood what was happening to me. I reacted promptly and thus saved the whole family's vacation. It is extremely helpful to know the remedies that can help you in these situations. It is about them that I want to tell you in this article.

First, let's figure out what symptoms make you understand that youare dealing with food intoxication:

  • increasing spasmodic sensations in the abdomen;
  • development of persistent intestinal colic;
  • feeling of nausea, frequent urge to vomit, diarrhea;
  • severe headache, general weakness of the body;
  • blood pressure surges;
  • fever or chills.

From the moment you realize it is food poisoning, you must act immediately. If the poisoning is mild and does not require medical attention, then natural remedies will help to restore the body. Natural remedies perform the same functions as medicines, they try to remove toxins from the body as quickly as possible.

The first thing to do in case of food intoxication is gastric lavage. To do this, it is necessary to prepare a solution with which the procedure will be carried out. It can be slightly salty water or a 2% solution of baking soda (1.5 liters of water + 1 tablespoon of baking soda). The victim is given as much solution as possible to drink, and then vomiting is induced. The procedure is carried out until the stomach is cleansed. After that, I recommend taking activated charcoal pills.

After cleansing the stomach, you can use herbal infusions, decoctions and other natural remedies.

One of the best natural remedies for food poisoning is chamomile. The plant is known for its outstanding absorbent, anti-inflammatory and disinfecting properties. Healing herbal decoctions can not only relieve nausea and neutralize toxins, but also activate bile synthesis to improve digestion.

How to prepare an effective natural remedy for food poisoning in an adult? The simplest solution is to use chamomile tea. Take about 2 tablespoons of plant flowers and pour 0.5 liters of boiling water over them. Leave to infuse for half an hour. The liquid cooled to room temperature is drunk during the day in about 5-6 doses.

Almost any poisoning is accompanied by nausea and vomiting. An infusion of dry herb of lemon balm will help to cope with this trouble. Pour four tablespoons of aromatic herbs into a thermos and pour two glasses of boiling water. It takes four hours to infuse the herbal decoction. Take half a glass before meals 4 times a day.

What other natural remedies for food poisoning in an adult are worth considering? In case of such problems, a decoction made from dill and honey will help you. You can use not only fresh shoots of the plant, but also dried, crushed stems and seeds. A medicinal decoction for detoxifying the body is prepared according to the following principle: a tablespoon of dill is mixed with water in an amount of 200-250 grams; the composition is placed on the stove, over medium heat, then simmer for 15-20 minutes; the solution is cooled and more boiled water is added until the original volume is reached; a tablespoon of natural honey is dissolved in the strained liquid. Drink half a glass 2-3 times a day on an empty stomach.

Also, in case of food poisoning, it is recommended to consume ginger tea. Tea is prepared as follows. Grind a small ginger root well and mix with half a liter of boiling water. The product is allowed to cool to room temperature. Tea is consumed in 50 ml during the day.

If you do not feel any improvement in your condition, it is advisable to seek medical help.

In my case, things went well. In a few days I fully recovered. Even if I felt pretty good, I continued to maintain a proper diet, I avoided consuming dairy products, meat, fish, but also alcoholic beverages.

Although it was an unpleasant experience, part of the vacation was still saved and that made me very happy. I wish you a beautiful holiday!

Be careful and act promptly!
