Autumn is the time of golden leaves, hot tea and mulled wine, long walks and cozy gatherings with friends. But unfortunately, it is not always possible to enjoy the autumn comfort due to health problems. In autumn, some chronic diseases are traditionally exacerbated and the frequency of depressions increases.
Autumn, like spring, are seasons that pose problems for patients with stomach ulcers. It is during these seasons that the whole body is restructured, and it turns out to be especially vulnerable to external and internal factors, while even a slight decrease in immunity or emotional overload can lead to an exacerbation of gastric ulcer disease.
Stomach ulcer is a chronic pathology characterized by periods of remission and exacerbations. It is manifested by the appearance of defects on the mucous membrane.
According to experts, 70% of stomach ulcers are diagnosed in men aged 40-50 years. In my opinion, the risk of this pathology depends not so much on sex as on lifestyle.
So what factors lead to stomach ulcers?
- the most common cause is the bacterium Helicobacter pylori. This microorganism quickly gets used to an aggressive environment, neutralizing hydrochloric acid;
- various pathologies – tuberculosis, lung cancer, diabetes, pancreatitis;
- heredity;
- blood group (scientists have proven that people with the first blood group have a 40% higher risk of ulceration);
- wrong lifestyle;
- bad habits – alcohol, smoking;
- constant stress;
- consuming large amounts of coffee;
- improper nutrition;
- long-term treatment with a variety of medications;
- drinking soda.
A medical examination can determine the cause of your problem, and the right treatment can solve it, or at least improve your situation.
But before resorting to treatment, I would recommend taking another look at the factors mentioned above. Some of them we certainly cannot influence, because they require an individual approach. But at the same time, I'm sure that many of the habits in the above list, characterize you as well.
Every time we talk about a health problem, I come to the same conclusion – diet and lifestyle are among the most important factors of human health.
What can I tell people who are facing this problem? I can tell that diet is your greatest friend and treatment.
In case of stomach ulcers, it is advisable to completely exclude certain foods from the diet. First of all … milk.
Although it was once believed that a glass of milk would be enough to relieve pain during an exacerbation of an ulcer. Unfortunately, this was a wrong idea, because milk increases the amount of stomach acids and does not neutralize them.
In addition, any spicy food is included in the list of prohibited foods for stomach ulcers – it increases pain due to irritation of the tissues of an already formed ulcer on the walls of the stomach.
You'll have to give up rich meat, mushroom, fish broths, fried, pickled, canned, sour foods and black bread.
Also excluded are coffee, alcohol and soda – they require a large amount of stomach acids to digest, and their formation causes peptic ulcer disease.
Smoking on an empty stomach is generally harmful, and with ulcers and gastritis, it is simply dangerous.
Chewing gum is no less harmful – especially on an empty stomach, it causes the release of hydrochloric acid, gastric juice …
You need to eat a little, but 4-5 times a day. It is useful to drink a glass of mineral water half an hour before meals. Slimy broths help, especially jelly, porridge – oatmeal, rice.
