Pain is one of the most common reasons for seeking medical care. Chronic pain is more disabling than even an incurable diagnosis, organ damage or dysfunction. There is an expression "pain is the master; man is the slave." It is pain that destroys man and makes him its slave. If a person experiences severe pain, it is as if he does not belong to himself, and this directly affects the quality of his life.
Sometimes neither pills nor surgeries can save you from it….
The idea that in chronic pain it is always enough to choose the right painkillers, unfortunately, is not supported by research. Even opioid analgesics, which have a public reputation as miracle pain relievers, are not the solution to all problems.
Instead, there are unconventional methods of chronic pain management that are quite effective but are ignored by patients.
Nevertheless, in this letter I want to talk about Earthing (also known as Grounding), a natural method of pain control that, according to some studies, can reduce pain by 83%.
The Earthing technique actually refers to the body's contact with the Earth's natural electrical charge, which has been shown to have a profound effect on the human body, stabilizing physiology at the deepest levels, reducing inflammation, pain and stress, improving blood flow, energy and sleep, and generating greater well-being.
Earthing is easy to perform and often produces quick results, especially for people with chronic conditions.
There are two main methods of earthing:
- Indoors, using inexpensive grounding systems such as conductive mats, pads, strips, or patches, while you are sitting or sleeping.
- Outdoors, including spending time barefoot in contact with naturally conductive surfaces such as grass, earth, gravel, stone and sand.
One of the most powerful effects of grounding, confirmed by nearly 20 years of research and feedback from thousands of people around the world, is the reduction and even elimination of chronic inflammation, a common cause or contributing factor to chronic and aging-related disease and pain.
This discovery suggests that the planet we live on is the original pain reliever, the original anti-inflammatory: nature's way of fighting inflammation.
How does Earthing work?
The Earth's surface is made up of negatively charged ions, which also contain electrons. These electrons can reduce positive charges, including those of free radicals. Free radicals circulate through the body in search of electrons to complement them, and once this happens, they are neutralized and no longer contribute to inflammation in the body.
Reduced levels of inflammation, in turn, lead to a reduction in chronic pain. While Earthing can't completely eliminate pain, it certainly reduces it significantly.
One of the things that fascinates me about the research done during Earthing is the thermographic images that show the body's heat map. The bright yellow-orange-red colors indicate inflammation in the body.
The graphs above show a significant reduction in inflammation in the body after a person received Earthing therapy for 2 hours.
How can we connect with the earth?
We have isolated ourselves from the earth primarily because we wear shoes, so we are no longer connected to its healing properties. The most effective way is to get rid of shoes, not in big cities of course, but in the country, where you can walk barefoot through green grass, or by the sea, where sand and salt water work wonders, for 20-30 minutes. Remember also that concrete is a good conductor, since it is not sealed or painted, but materials such as asphalt or wood will not allow electrons to penetrate, so walking barefoot around the house will not help much.
In places where you have little access to the natural environment, you can use the grounding mats. This matting device can be placed on the floor under bare feet while you work on your computer to reduce the amount of radiation you are exposed to.
Try the barefoot walk and I guarantee you'll feel amazing.
Personally, the moment I touch the ground with my soles, I feel and imagine energetic roots coming out of my soles and getting stuck in the ground. This creates a powerful connection, a communication with the whole, a return of the senses.
It's definitely worth a try. I look forward to hearing about your experience.
Bye!
