How to prevent an autumn aggravation of joint pain?

Autumn is a wonderful time of the year, rich in colors, fruits and vegetables. However, for some, autumn is less beautiful, because it is during this period that some diseases become aggravated. In one of my previous articles, I wrote about one of them, namely a stomach ulcer.

This time I would like to touch on the topic ofrheumatic diseases that cause such unpleasant sensations in people who face these problems.

The reason for the autumn aggravation is that with an increase in air humidity, water penetrates into the tissues of the joints and bones, which become more porous with age.

Treatment of rheumatic diseases is a complex process that must be coordinated with a doctor. At the same time, the ability to relieve symptoms is extremely important during periods of exacerbation.

Below I have compiled some practical tips on how to prevent joints pain in the fall:

  • Keeping warm is considered the key to preventing joint disease. People with rheumatic pain need to pay more attention to keeping warm. On hot days, you cannot chase coolness and cold, for example, you cannot sleep on the floor, and do not put the air conditioner on a very low temperature. In the evening before going to bed, be sure to cover your legs with a blanket to prevent hypothermia.
  • In cold weather, I advise you to dress warmly, and do not forget about warm socks. It is very beneficial to maintain health and prevent worsening joint pain by taking a hot bath, soaking your feet in hot water, or by doing a warming knee massage.
  • It is necessary to properly plan work and rest. Many people with rheumatoid arthritis experience deterioration in their health due to overwork. Therefore, you need to properly plan your time, paying attention to both work and leisure.
  • Train your joints. In the fall, no one really wants to go out, not to mention physical activity. One desire is to wrap yourself in a warm blanket in front of the TV. But if you have joint problems, try to overcome this laziness. A special set of physical exercises should be performed at this time of the year, as it supports motor abilities. The fact is that a sedentary lifestyle weakens the muscles that support the joint. In addition, with inactivity, blood circulation slows down, and the joint does not receive the nutrition it needs.
  • Do not fall. First frosts, puddles, slippery asphalt. One awkward movement and you can fall down. Choose shoes with grooved soles. If you see a dangerous section of the road, try to be attentive, move carefully, stepping on your feet, do not keep your hands in your pockets – it is better to balance them by spreading them to the sides.
  • Hold the weight. Extra pounds put a lot of stress on the joints and complicate their work. Therefore, try not to gain a lot in the autumn-winter period, watch your diet.
  • Eat right. The diet must include vegetables and fruits, cereals, dairy products, fish and meat. For the prevention of joint problems, enrich the diet with vitamins, proteins, calcium, mucopolysaccharides, which are responsible for the synthesis of cartilage tissue. They are found in jelly, aspic, and in wormwood herbs, celandine, and yarrow.

The subject of nutrition in cases of joint pain is a very important one. Therefore, I will return to it in one of the following articles.

In the meantime, get rid of stress, because it not only weakens the immune system, but also exacerbates the development of existing diseases, and also exacerbates pain.
