This is unusual for me, but in this article I decided to write about something less pleasant. I think you are used to me telling you about wonderful plants and foods, tips that will help you improve your health or prevent certain diseases… At some point I realized that all this is in vain if people do not know that some of their daily habits are ruining their health. I think you would like to avoid them, ignore them, but they exist, are extremely common and very harmful to health.
What habits destroy your health?
Tobacco
More and more facts speak of tobacco as the deadliest drug in the world. More people die from smoking than from fires, disasters, AIDS, homicide, cocaine and heroin combined.
At present, smoking has become deeply embedded in the life of many people, it has become an everyday occurrence.
Frequent and prolonged smoking is associated with manifestations of physical discomfort: morning cough, headache, sharp discomfort in the stomach, heart, sweating, fluctuations in blood pressure, loss of sleep, appetite, memory loss. The person becomes nervous, irritable. In addition, smokers endanger not only themselves, but also those around them. Inhalation of smoky tobacco air leads to the same diseases that smokers suffer.
Alcohol
Taking even small doses of alcohol lowers performance, leads to rapid fatigue, absent-mindedness, and makes it difficult to correctly perceive reality.
Alcohol has an extremely harmful effect on brain cells, paralyzing their activity and destroying them. The effect of alcohol on the liver is detrimental: with prolonged use, chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver develop. The consumption of alcoholic beverages, regardless of the type of strength, leads to a violation of the heart rhythm, metabolic processes in the tissues of the heart and brain, and irreversible changes in these tissues.
Overeating
Overeating means consuming such an amount of food, the energy value of which is greater than the energy expended by us, which inevitably leads to weight gain. Excess weight is the basis for the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, diabetes, diseases of the musculoskeletal system, peripheral nervous system, and a number of oncological diseases.
Stress
Any person is subject to stress, regardless of the position held and material wealth. A tense emotional state has a negative impact on the psychological and physical state of a person. Stress leads to psycho emotional disturbances such as: anxiety, depression, neurosis, mood decline, or, conversely, overexcitation, anger, memory impairment, insomnia. Stresses are the main risk factors for the manifestation and exacerbation of many diseases: cardiovascular (hypertension, angina pectoris, stroke), gastrointestinal tract (ulcer, gastritis), colds and infections, which is explained by weakened immunity. It is impossible to remove most stress factors from our lives, but it is possible to change perceptions and neutralize their negative impact on our health and life in general.
Hypodynamia
In the modern world, office work, automation of production, movement by car, the development of household appliances reduces the need for a person to move. Low physical activity contributes to the development of diseases such as arterial hypertension, atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, diabetes mellitus, obesity and osteoporosis. Even normal, daily physical activity (walking down the street, doing housework, walking up the stairs) can help maintain muscle tone and maintain weight, as these activities burn calories.
Lack of sleep
Insomnia is one of the most common causes of a weakened immune system. Lack of a regimen, being busy at work, stress, or depression – all these factors interfere with the proper rest of the body, preventing you from getting enough sleep. Sleep deficiency significantly weakens the body's natural defense.
Pessimistic attitude
You may not have thought about the fact that mood can affect health, but scientists unanimously say that a pessimistic attitude negatively affects the body. It's all to blame for cortisol – a stress hormone, the increased production of which destroys the cells of the immune system. How can we resist this? Very simple! Look for the positive in everything you see, find reasons for fun, enjoy every day, meet with friends more often and spend more time with family members who will give you the support you need.
The impact of lifestyle on human health is colossal! A person who leads a healthy lifestyle feels full of energy, visits doctors less often and has clearly more advantages than those who do not monitor their health and have bad habits.
Every person has the opportunity to strengthen or maintain health, to maintain work capacity, physical activity, vigor of body and spirit until old age. It is important to use this wisely, it all depends on your lifestyle!
How about a break and a cigarette?
