What happens to your body if you drink Kombucha every day?

Personally, I fell in love with Kombucha the first time I tried it.

Fizzy, with a handful of mint and cold – the perfect healthy drink for summer. Kombucha tea is a great alternative to lemonade in terms of flavor, plus it is high in probiotics. In addition to probiotics, this drink has a number of health benefits. It contains B vitamins, which ensure a healthy metabolism and protection of the nervous system, as well as a large amount of antioxidants.

By drinking Kombucha every day, you will notice positive effects on your health, such as:

Improvement of digestion

Thanks to the content of probiotics, enzymes and beneficial acids Kombucha has a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract, normalizes stomach acidity and improves intestinal microflora. This is especially important in summer during the period of intestinal infections. Add mint and lemon to the drink – they additionally stimulate the secretion of gastric juice and digestion.

Strengthening of the immune system

Kombucha will help you stay healthy in any weather. This drink supports healthy gut microflora, whose composition determines 80% of the body's immune response. Try an infusion of Kombucha with ginger root or turmeric for a metabolic boost and anti-inflammatory effect.

Fortifying the muscular and nervous system

Kombucha contains B vitamins that actively participate in muscle growth and normalize the functioning of the cardiovascular and nervous system.

Increasing energy levels

The tonic effect of Kombucha is partly due to the tannin in the tea, which has a milder effect on the central nervous system than caffeine. But the real charge of liveliness comes more from Kombucha's rich nutrient and vitamin composition.

Detoxification of the body

Kombucha contains organic acids – acetic, glucuronic and sugar acids – as well as antioxidants. They have antimicrobial properties and help the liver to eliminate toxic elements from the body.

Improvement of skin and hair condition

Natural Kombucha acid positively affects the way you look. In China and Indonesia, Kombucha infusion is traditionally rinsed with hair to make it stronger and shinier, and rubbed on the face to brighten the skin and get rid of age spots.

The benefits of Kombucha tea are undeniable, but it is worth remembering that this drink is not suitable for everyone. First, in fermented tea, the alcohol level can be from 0.5 to 3%. Due to the fact that the product does not go through the pasteurization process, pregnant and lactating women as well as children should refuse this drink.

Also, people with gastritis, gastric ulcer or low blood pressure should consult a doctor before drinking.

In addition, the high content of yeast cultures and acetic acids can be harmful to tooth enamel. If you have dental problems, use a straw or ask your dentist if you can take Kombucha.

If you have decided to start drinking Kombucha though, I recommend starting with 100 ml a day for a week and see what happens. Or, you can try this delicious lemonade with Kombucha and ginger. To prepare this drink you need: 1 tablespoon of freshly ground ginger; juice from 2 lemons; ½ tablespoon sugar or honey; 2 cups of Kombucha.

Add ginger, lemon juice and sugar or honey to a wide-mouth bottle then add Kombucha. Put the lid on and shake the bottle until the sugar or honey dissolves. Refrigerate the drink for 3-7 days. Take care when opening the lid. Do not shake the bottle. Remove ginger pieces and serve chilled.

You can also add slices of lemon and fresh mint to the drink.

Enjoy!
