After the winter holidays, our body, as a rule, is overloaded and cannot cope with the abundance of harmful substances on its own. At this moment, it is important to arrange a "vacation" for the body. It's time for detox, the process by which the human body gets rid of accumulated toxins. As a result of detoxification, the body is restored and the work of all internal organs is normalized.
There are several types of detox (fasting or water detoxification, juice detox, raw food diet, veganism, etc.). I cannot recommend a specific type because the choices are made based on the person's goals, lifestyle and overall health. But at the same time, I have some general tips that will be very helpful if you decide to start the detoxification process.
- After the holidays, it is advisable to follow a diet for at least a month, then it will be easier for the body to adapt. The absence of sudden changes in nutrition has a positive effect on the dynamics of recovery.
- Fluid plays a critical role in the detoxification process. At the time of unloading, give up alcohol, juices and fruit drinks, drink plenty of clean water. You can calculate the required amount of water per day using the formula: 30 ml per 1 kg of body weight. Divide your daily servings into 4-5 intakes.
- Every morning, start with one or two glasses of detox water filled with the juice of half a lemon and a wedge of ginger. If you do this daily, then you will feel how quickly the work of the gastrointestinal tract will improve and the metabolism will activate.
- Food must certainly contain a complex of elements and vitamins necessary for the body. The daily diet includes six food groups: cereals; fruits, berries, dried fruits; liquid dairy products; protein food (meat, fish, poultry, eggs, cottage cheese, cheese); fats (vegetable oil, seeds, nuts); vegetables. Train yourself to soak greens, fruits, and vegetables in slightly acidified water with half a lemon to protect yourself from pesticides and nitrates. You should also soak legumes, nuts, and grains to get rid of the phytates. Phytic acid contains indigestible phosphorus, which contributes to bloating and a feeling of heaviness in the abdomen.
- Give up sweets (even honey), and if you have no strength at all to endure the torment, eat dry or fresh fruits (fresh – from 500 g to 1 kg per day).
- Two meals a day is not conducive to healthy digestion, so it is important to eat five meals a day, with 3-4 hour breaks. Remember, often doesn't mean a lot. It is very important that dinner ends no later than 7 pm and is as light as possible: stewed vegetables, quinoa or green buckwheat are what you need.
- Walk in the fresh air as often as possible. Include physical activity in your daily routine, it can be morning exercises, jumping rope, gymnastics, light jogging. Exercise promotes lymph drainage and removes excess intercellular fluid from tissues.
- It is very important for the body to sweat out every day for 15 minutes. With sweat, a huge amount of harmful substances is released. Therefore, a visit to a bath or sauna will be an excellent addition to detox.
These are my detox tips. But now I propose to move from the general to the more specific, namely the foods that are most effective in the detox diet.
