Post-holiday Detox: How to Recover in Just 5 Days

Overeating, alcohol, breaking the regimen – during the holidays we allow ourselves to go a little crazy and relax, and there is nothing wrong or shameful about it. The key is to pick yourself up at some point and make an effort to get your body and mind in balance and eliminate the effects of that burst of hedonism.

You've had your fun, and that's enough! Give your body a little break to get back to normal.

Here's a quick guide to a post-holiday detox to help you get back on track and regain your well-being quickly!

The first and most important rule to follow is to eliminate animal products from your diet. During the detox program, the diet should include lots of greens, plenty of water, fruits, vegetables, legumes and gluten-free cereals.

After bedtime

Every morning you should start with one or two glasses of water infused with the juice of half a lemon and a slice of ginger. If you do this daily, you will feel how quickly the work of the gastrointestinal tract will improve and the metabolism will be activated.

To enhance the effect, after drinking water, you can dilute 1 teaspoon of psyllium in a glass of warm water. This sorbent will collect all the accumulated mucus, unnecessary cellular debris that will appear in the body after dietary errors and alcohol. By the way, psyllium can be drunk not only in the morning, but also before going to bed.

Breakfast

Breakfast is best made "green". A green juice or smoothie is ideal. Take celery, parsley, cucumber and mix everything in a blender. Such a mixture is useful for cleansing the liver.

Also for breakfast you can prepare "live" porridge. I strongly recommend giving preference to sprouted grains, as they retain all the vitamins and minerals that are very useful. They improve metabolism, increase immunity and most importantly – adjust the work of the gastrointestinal tract. To prepare this porridge, soak the groats overnight.

Lunch and Dinner

For lunch, prepare a large bowl of green salad. Apart from salad, detox soup should be included in your lunch diet. Take any vegetables except tomatoes, eggplant and potatoes, put them in a steamer, pour water or coconut or almond milk, add turmeric and black pepper. Steam for 20 minutes and bring to a boil.

If your hunger doesn't go away, you can learn a recipe for a heartier soup. For this recipe you will need: boiled chickpeas – 400 g, cauliflower – 200 g, coconut milk, 2 teaspoons of turmeric and a couple of heads of garlic. Steam or stew the vegetables, add the boiled chickpeas, pour in the milk, stir and let stand for 10-15 minutes.

A very important point – the dish should not be consumed hot, but slightly cooled.

It is very important that the dinner ends no later than 7 pm and is as light as possible: stewed vegetables, quinoa or green buckwheat is what you need.

Already after 5 days of such a diet you will see a noticeable result. Your body will become lighter, your skin will improve, excess fluid will disappear, and with it swelling – something that everyone wants so much after the holidays.
