How often do you clean your house? Every day, once a week? What does your house look like after a party? A bit messy, isn't it? But what would your home look like if you hadn't cleaned it at all? I think it would look deplorable.
Just like the house we live in, and we want it to be comfortable and cozy, our body needs cleanliness. Especially the liver, the filter that cleans and ensures the proper functioning of the body.
In a healthy body, the "cleansing" of the liver occurs constantly and very effectively. The liver produces bile. Bile is involved in digestion, and with it all unnecessary is removed from the liver.
At the same time, improper diet, alcohol, smoking, medications – are factors that strongly affect the liver, and as a result it ceases to cope with its functions. In such cases, the liver needs help.
My patients often ask me if there are ways and remedies to cleanse the liver at home. You will definitely not "vacuum" it like a dirty carpet, and it will be able to filter the blood further. Unfortunately, this is not easy.
It should be remembered that serious liver problems cannot be curedwith natural remedies. In these cases, it is very important to consult a doctor. Also, you should avoid alternative liver cleanses under the following conditions:
- acute cholecystitis, pancreatitis, or hepatitis;
- exacerbation of chronic processes;
- stones in the gallbladder, regardless of their size;
- the outflow of bile is impaired for other reasons (tumor, operation on the bile ducts, and so on);
- pregnancy and lactation.
If you find yourself in one of the above groups, be very careful! For this category of patients, and for everyone in general, I would recommend diets as the most effective and harmless methods for restoring the liver.
Hunger is prohibited! However, there are many dietary restrictions. It is necessary to exclude from the diet: fried, fatty foods, bread made from premium flour, sugar, spicy, salty food. They should be replaced with bread crumbs, vegetables, non-acidic fruits, vegetable soups, lean meat and poultry, cereals, natural honey. Recommended drinks: tea, rosehip broth, freshly prepared vegetable juices.
A natural remedy for cleansing the liver is the infusion of oatmeal.
The preparation for this procedure begins 2-3 weeks before, with a proper diet. Eliminate alcohol, flour and fried, smoked, fatty, salty foods. For this recipe, it is advisable to use oatmeal grains, not oatmeal flakes.
Preparation: Add 1 liter of water to 100 g of oats. Make sure you rinse the grains well. Put the mixture on the stove. Once it boils, reduce heat and cook for another 20 minutes, uncovered. When done, cover and wrap. Infuse until completely cooled.
This recipe is good because you can drink the infusion at any time, without being tied to a diet. You need 500 ml of infusion per day. It is consumed 3-4 times a day for 2 months. If necessary, carry out several procedures with a break of 1 month.
Plum juice is effective in restoring liver function.
This remedy helps cleanse the liver of toxins. It is enough to drink 200 ml of juice daily on an empty stomach.
Burdock leaf recipe for liver detox.
You will need 100 grams of leaves, from which you need to squeeze the juice. The duration of treatment is one week. During this period, you need to drink 2 teaspoons of juice before meals three times a day.
Mixture of herbs to flush your liver.
Ingredients: a tablespoon of chamomile flowers, a teaspoon of celandine, a teaspoon of yarrow. Mix everything, pour a liter of boiling water and leave for half an hour. Take half a glass of infusion 3 times daily before meals. The course of treatment is 10 days.
Liver cleansing with vegetable oil in small doses.
Cleansing the liver with long-term intake of small doses of vegetable oil is the simplest and most effective method. The general duration of liver cleansing is 5 weeks. During the first week, drink half a teaspoon of vegetable oil in the morning. The second week every morning, drink a teaspoon of oil. The third week – every morning a dessert spoon of oil, the fourth week – every morning a tablespoon of oil. The fifth week, and this will be the final cycle, again a dessert spoon of vegetable oil. Complications of such liver cleansing: possible exacerbation of pancreatitis, gastritis, stomach and duodenal ulcers.
While alternative medicine offers many options for home liver cleansing, I recommend that you be very careful when choosing any of these. Rather, I recommend to my friends and patients to reconsider their diet, quit smoking and other habits that harm both the liver and the entire body. It is better to protect the liver than to "fix" it.
